There are many wedding dresses out there and they have very different sleeve types. You can find a wedding dress with a full length sleeve, one that goes mid-forearm, to the elbow, cap sleeve that covers the shoulder but stops shortly after, or instead of purchasing a wedding dress with sleeves you can invest in a shrug or coat that covers your arms.
If you buy a wedding dress with a long sleeve you can have different styles with the sleeve. You can have a sleeve constructed only of lace, or it can have part lace and part satin/silk or other material the entire gown is made of. You can even incorporate a long sleeve to run over your wrist, or have part of it on the back of your hand and connected to your middle finger.
Mid-forearm sleeves can be paired with short gloves. This is a very cute effect. A mid-forearm sleeve might be very puffy or only a little puffy, they can consist of material that falls flat from the shoulder and rests against your arm. You might also use different materials than the dress in this type of sleeve.
With a sleeve that comes down to your elbow, you can purchase a longer glove and have the two of them meet to create a seamless looking effect. This way you can appear to be covered entirely, but you have the ability to take your gloves off easily.
Cap sleeves are always very cute. They hide the shoulder and what most of us refer to as flabby arms. You still generally have to ensure your armpits are in good condition because with a cap sleeve there is no guarantee how much people can see when you lift your arm. Cap sleeves are generally made form the same material as the dress.
With a shrug or small coat, you have the ability to remove it later in the evening. Should it get hotter, or you drink a little more and become braver, then you don’t have to remove the entire gown to cool down. Instead you can remove your top part, and immediately feel the cooling effects. A coat can also be made of any material, or even different color than the dress and possibly be used with other outfits you have already.
You have a variety of choices when it comes to sleeves. To see which one suits you best you will have to actually try on some dresses with different styles!
