Used Wedding Gowns For Sale
Summary: One of the less expensive options when choosing your wedding dress is to consider purchasing a pre-owned wedding dress.  This option is not for everyone but considering the current economic times it is becoming more popular.

Although there seems to be a stigma attached to buying a pre-owned gown, you must remember that for years daughters would wear their mothers, or grandmother’s previously worn gowns.  Purchasing a used gown is not necessarily in the same family, and at times you may not know its’ true owner history, but this is going to be your wedding with your memories, so if you look at it that way, then you can appreciate it for the great bargain it is.

On the day my friend Elise was asked to wed her boyfriend she called me in a panic.  I knew she would have a lot of difficulty affording a wedding as both their sets of parents were not approving of their relationship, and they did not earn a lot of money.

Elise was most concerned about the wedding dress, having witnessed the disaster of me buying one and not liking it after a week and then realizing it could not be returned.  I had ended up buying another and selling my original one online.

It is too bad she did not fit my actual wedding dress in the slightest or she wouldn’t have had any problem.  I did ask if she had anything against wearing a used gown and she did not, so I told her to come over right away and we would start the search for her.

We started out by visiting second hand shops. I have seen them sell wedding dresses on various occasions. Unfortunately our trips to the market were unsuccessful with most findings out of fashion and she got very down.  I knew tears were shortly coming so I thought we would head home and look at used dresses online over a cup of tea.

We did see several websites, and we bookmarked a few selections on one buyer/sellers website in particular.  Although many were listed as designer Elise was very concerned about the style, size and fit of many of them.  We called our search off for the day, and planned to get together that weekend to tackle her problem.

The weekend brought us to a few consignment shops.  Although they may have a slightly higher price tag, they generally take special care of the dresses they hold and buyers still save a great deal.  Elise was able to find her beautiful dream dress at the first shop we went to.

Miraculously the second bridal dress she found had a fabulous design fit to perfection.  She and I were both in awe as she opened the fitting room curtain and stepped out a gorgeous bride.  If I am ever in a situation to assist and brides with that particular problem at their weddings I now know exactly what to do.
