Beach Informal Wedding Dress

Summary: Some of the best weddings I have ever been to were informal affairs on the beach. Not every wedding dress is appropriate for the beach so when you shop for your wedding attire look for a beach informal wedding dress that will make you feel beautiful.
When searching for the perfect dress for your wedding there are a few things you need to consider. Do you want to drag a train through damp sand? I’d lose the idea of a trail.
Since most beach weddings take place between late spring and early autumn you may not want to wear long sleeves. The sun reflecting off of th water will make you feel even better.
A beautiful sarong in a soft white or imprinted with tropical flowers would be perfect for a beach wedding.
One flower in your hair and white sandals make a perfect wedding beach outfit for an informal wedding.
If your beach wedding is an exotic beach destination like Hawaii or Fiji look at the wedding customs of the area and check out what the customary local wedding attire is. Also be sure that adopting a local custom or tradition won’t be resented by the local residents.
Also make sure that the sun and salt won’t ruing your dress, hair and makeup. You may want to look on line to see what the locals at your destination wear for beach weddings.
Be aware that some religious traditions require believers to be married in a house of worship in the presence of an authorized clergyman. You can still have a beach reception
In a case like this you may want to get an informal dress with detachable, spaghetti or halter straps. Then after the ceremony you can kick off your shoes, remove the straps and enjoy your reception with family and friends.
You probably don’t want a full length gown and high heels on the beach. Opt for, at the longest, a mid-calf hem and flat sandals for comfort and style.
My niece got married on the beach in Hawaii. She wore a lovely knee length halter dress she bought off the rack at a department store. It wasn’t a “wedding dress” but she loved it. She wore it with tropical flowers in her hair and wore simple flat sandals. Her new husband was stationed at a naval base and wore his dress uniform. Of course all the guests wore presented with leis.
If you are working on our beach wedding from a distance, you may want to hire a wedding planner in the area to handle all of the details for you. Fortunately you can stay in touch via email. He or she can arrange for tents, catering, seating, etc. All you have to do is show up with your groom and wedding dress.
