It is traditional to ask your bridesmaids to purchase their own wedding gowns, however some wedding party members may feel a bit resentful if they need to put a lot of money out for a dress they may never wear again.  Even the bride may be shocked by the prices of some wedding gowns.  Weddings do not need to always be full of extravagance; you can pull off a reasonably priced wedding and find a beautiful bridal gown without breaking the bank.
