Vintage Vera Wang Bridesmaids

Summary: For my bridesmaids at my wedding I had a definite vision of how they should appear.  I wanted elegant classy and vintage; specifically, Vera Wang vintage.  Designer Vera Wang has a special bridesmaid section in many colors on her website verawang.com.

The dresses on her website are displayed in a very wide range of styles from very traditional beautiful dresses to hot red little numbers.  I would not want my bridesmaids to outshine me as a bride, but would want to bridal party to look smart and attractive.

My budget included a bridesmaid dress fund.  Considering the price of some of her pieces for brides I considered it essential if I was going to get my bridesmaids into her designs.  I have always been impressed with the Vera Wang collection and appreciate the pieces in her collection.  My own was to be a Vera Wang bride, so I thought it best to stay in her design line for the bridesmaid dresses.

Often the first stop for my shopping these days is to take a look online and see the item I want in a photo first.  This was no exception; I took a good look at the maids section of verawang.com and was surprised I could view the dresses by color scheme.  I actually tried to keep it in line with the color of cakes that would be served at my ceremony.

There were a few vintage pieces I was really in love with.  Although my dress was mostly modern, these dresses would perfectly match and make our wedding a thing of true beauty.

We did manage to get everyone to the shop about a month later, and they had the style of gown I had requested.  After a few tries on and lots of giggling we managed to figure out all six of my bridesmaids dresses.  They did require alteration, but that would have been expected with any bridesmaid dress.

Following the dress trying on we had a short lunch together.  Over lunch I delivered a discussion of the wedding, what my weddings theme was and what I service expected from each of the women.  I know they see me as an overly prepared woman, but I am someone who knows what they want.

We finished up the afternoon by searching out accessories and shoes.  This seemed to be the most difficult part.  I did not have a very set fashion for shoes so some wanted heels, others flats.  The color was also not important as long as it matched the dress style.

After our day was over we had a quick round of drinks and congratulated each other on our wonderful buys.  It was a fantastic way to set the mood of the wedding that was to occur a couple months down the road.
